Kaelan Talent Tree Build & Guide

In Call of Dragons, Kaelan is a legendary archer hero. He has the Marksman, Support, and Garrison talent trees.

Should you invest in Kaelan?

Kaelan is one of the best archer heroes that you can get in Call of Dragons. His damage output is incredibly high. What is great about Kaelan is that you can use him as a secondary hero when using cavalry units.

If you are a free-to-play player who focuses on archers, then you should definitely get him. It is 100% worth spending resources on him. If some of your strong cavalry heroes need a strong nuking secondary hero, then you can use Kaelan. The only downside is that you have to max out Kaelan in order for him to deal maximum damage.

• Highest single-target damage in the game
• Gets value immediately on field contact, before rage skill is even ready.
• His damage output exceeds every cavalry hero in the game even when used as a cavalry deputy.
• 2nd skill built specifically for garrison: 50% chance per normal/extra normal to reduce target defense by 2% per stack, max 10 stacks = −20% defense on the target.
• In open field, archers get targeted and deleted before rage skill fires.
• Talent trees are a real limitation: Marksman, Garrison, Support — no Precision, no Skill, no Control tree.

Kaelan Pairings

Pair Kaelan with other Marksman heroes that will provide additional nuke damage or hero that provides some survivability for field fights.

Kaelan and Ruby have best synergy: Massive nuke potential. Constant passive damage output without needing to cast a rage skill — solving Kaelan’s biggest weakness.

If you do not have Kaelan, then you can pair Kaelan with: Zayda, Maggrat, and Gwanwyn, Ffraegar.

Kaelan Artifacts

The artifact you use depends on the hero paired with Kaelan. The best artifacts are Roaring Rager, Shadow Blades and Heart of the Kamasi

Kaelan War Pets

There are a lot of war pets in Call of Dragons, and they are hard to get on a decent level. Focus on pets that will boost damage or provided buffs.

Best Pets for Kaelan are:

• Kaelan + Ruby → Wind Weasel
• Shadow Manticore
• Snowpeak Roc

Skill Rage Cost: 1,000
Attack Range: Medium

Fires a salvo that launches 5 extra Physical normal attacks against the target Legion every second for 2s (Damage Factor 200).

Normal attack Damage Factor 100 / 120 / 140 / 170 / 200

Thieves’ Lookout

Passive Skill 
When garrisoning a City or Stronghold, the Legion has a 50% chance to reduce the target Legion’s DEF by 1.2% for 3s each time the Hero’s Legion launches a normal attack or extra normal attack (max 10 stacks).

DEF reduction 1% / 1.2% / 1.4% / 1.7% / 2%

Ranger Heart

Passive Skill 
Legion Marksman units gain 15% Physical ATK and take 5% less Skill damage.

Upgrade Preview: 
Marksman unit ATK bonus 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30%
Marksman unit Skill damage taken reduction 4% / 5% / 6% / 8% / 10%

Dangerous Chase

Passive Skill 
When launching a normal attack or an extra normal attack, the Legion has a 50% chance to gain 1 stack of Archer’s Mark. Upon reaching 5 stacks, all stacks are consumed and the Legion deals Physical damage to the target Legion (Damage Factor 500) and ignores 5% of enemy DEF for 3s.

Enemy DEF penetration 4% / 5% / 6% / 8% / 10%

Blind Barrage

Increases salvo damage by 15%. The Legion gains 3 stacks of Archer’s Mark immediately upon entering battle.
