In Call of Dragons, gems are the most viable type of resource that is hard to get. That is why you have to be careful how you spend gems, especially if you are a free-to-play player. As a free-to-play player, you will have a hard time getting gems because the number of ways you can get them is limited, and farming gems will be almost impossible because all free-to-play players in your kingdom will try to farm them.
In Call of Dragons, you should spend your gems on unlocking honor level 8, on the Lucky Wheel, and purchasing an item called a treaty for rally building. These are the three most important things to get with gems, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spend them on other things. It all depends on your situation and your goal.
Spend gems on honor levels and points
There are 15 different levels of honor in Call of Dragons, and all of them will give you some significant buffs. Your first goal should be to get to Honor Level 8, because it will give you a second research queue, which is extremely important to speed up your growth process, and you will get a free legendary hero token daily.
One more huge benefit that you will get by spending gems on honor points is that you will unlock things in the honor store that you can purchase with resources each week, like CP Recover. If you have extra games, then you can purchase speedups and resources from the honor store because they are on huge discounts.
Each honor point costs one gem. So to reach honor level 8, you will need 35,000 gems. Just be active and complete all events that have gems as part of the rewards, and you will be able to collect 35,000 gems relatively quickly.
Spending gems in the honor shop
The honor shop is a great place to spend your gems if you have any extra. Now, if you are a free-to-play player, we recommend that you only spend if you need a specific item immediately, like a teleport.
There is a limited number of items in the honor shop, so after you purchase them, you will have to wait until the end of the week when the shop gets restocked.
Buying treaty items with gems
To get your rally building to level 25, you will need a huge amount of treaties, which is extremely hard to get. You can get it by rallying and fighting enemies, but that will not be enough to get you a level 25 rally building.
So, once your honor has reached a reasonable level, you should begin spending gems on Treaty. For 10 gems, you can get one treaty. Rally building is important because you need to upgrade it to unlock a new level of city hall, and without city hall, you will not be able to research certain technologies.
Purchase items from the market
There are a lot of items that you can purchase from the market in Call of Dragons. Some items will cost resources, while others will cost gems. It is best to purchase items that are discounted by 60–70%, but only if you have extra gems that you do not need. If you are a free-to-play player, stay away from it.
Spending gems on events
There are a lot of different events in Call of Dragons where you can spend your gems. Now, most of them are not worth it because the value that you get from gems is not that great. The only event that is worth it is the Lucky Wheel.
Use your gems to spin the Lucky Wheel.
The Lucky Spin event in Call of Dragons is fantastic because it allows you to summon heroes and gives you a large number of hero tokens to invest in.
To summon a hero from a lucky spin, you will need around 5600 gems. Only spend on the lucky spin if you have your rally building and honor at a decent level.
In Call of Dragons, you can spend your gems on almost everything, but the problem is that they are hard to get, especially if you are a free-to-play player.
So the best place to spend your gems that will give you the most value is on honor levels, treaty items for rally building, and the Lucky Wheel. If you have extra gems, you can spend them on items that you need, but do not spend them on upgrading buildings because it is not worth it.
